Chief Executive Officer

Eduardo Ebensperger Orrego

Chief Executive Officer since May 2016. Prior to this position, he was our Commercial Division manager from 2014 to 2016 following the merger of the Commercial Division and the Wholesale, Large Companies and Real Estate Division. Before that, he was the Wholesale, Large Companies and Real Estate Division manager. From 2005 to 2007 he was manager of Large Companies and between 2002 and 2005 he was CEO of the subsidiary Banchile Factoring S.A.

Mr. Ebensperger joined Banco Edwards in 1989. He was appointed Regional Branch manager in 1997 and later was appointed Medium-Sized Companies Division manager. He is currently a member of the boards of directors of Banchile Asesoría Financiera S.A., Banchile Administradora General de Fondos S.A. and Socofin and is a member of the executive committee of Banchile Corredores de Seguros Limitada. Mr. Ebensperger holds a degree in business and economics from Universidad de Chile.

Commercial Division

José Luis Vizcarra Villalobos

Commercial Division Manager since January 2020. Mr. Vizcarra joined Banco de Chile in September 1977. As of the date of his most recent appointment, he was Metropolitan Regional Manager, a position he held since 2017.

Previously, he served as Regional Area Manager and Zone Manager in different locations throughout Chile, among other roles.

Mr. Vizcarra has a technical degree in finance from Instituto de Estudios Bancarios Guillermo Subercaseaux, a graduate degree in corporate management from Universidad del Desarrollo, and a graduate certificate in finance from Universidad de Buenos Aires.

Marketing and Digital Banking Division

Claudia Marcela Herrera García

Marketing and Digital Banking Division Manager since October 7, 2019. Previously, she was the Division Manager in charge of Digital Transformation, a strategic program that she will continue to lead.

She joined Banco Edwards in 2000, in 2009 she assumed the position of Area Manager for Large Business Regions, and in 2010 as Area Manager for Large Metro Companies, Factoring and Comex, a position she held until June 2019 when she is named Manager of Large Metro Business Division, Factoring and Comex.

Mrs. Herrera is a Commercial Engineer from the Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI).

Corporate Risk Division

Julio Cubillo Navarro

Corporate Risk Division Manager since August 2024 after the integration of the Wholesale Credit Risk Division into the Retail Credit Risk and Global Risk Control Division of which he was manager until that date. Previously, between May 2017 and July 2018, he was Head of Credit Risk at BBVA Chile. Likewise, Mr. Cubillo was Global Head of Credit Risk for Consumer Finance line of business at BBVA Holding (Spain) and before that he was Global Head of Retail Credit Risk Tools within the same financial group, in which he continued between years 2011 and 2017. He started his career at Bankinter in Madrid developing several functions in the risk areas and segments during 11 years. Mr. Cubillo is an economist from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain), having also completed an executive development program at IESE Business School (Spain).

División Contraloría

Oscar Mehech Castellón

Internal Audit Division manager since July 2008. Before that, he was our Regulatory Policies Division manager, Global Compliance Division manager and deputy general counsel. Prior to joining the bank in 2002, he was deputy general counsel at Banco de A. Edwards.

Mr. Mehech is the chairman of the Internal Audit Committee of the Chilean Association of Banks and the vice chairman of the Surveillance Committee at Depósito Central de Valores S.A. He is an attorney and holds a law degree from Universidad de Chile and an MBA from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Chief Executive Officer of Banchile Corredores de Bolsa S.A.

Hernán Arellano Salas

Chief Executive Officer of Banchile Corredores de Bolsa S.A. since September 2016. Previously, between 2007 and 2016, Mr. Arellano held different positions at IM Trust S.A., including Chief Executive Officer, Managing Director of Capital Markets, and Director and Head of Regional Equities where he was responsible for the variable income business of the brokerage houses of Credicorp Capital in Chile, Peru, Colombia and USA. Between 2003 and 2005 he was Deputy Finance manager at Viña San Pedro S.A. Prior to this he was a Senior Analyst at Bice Chile Consult.

Mr. Arellano received a degree in business administration and a M.A. in Applied Economics from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and an MBA from F.W. GSB Olin, Babson College. He is an adjunct professor at the MBA program at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Chief Financial Officer

Rolando Arias Sanchez

Chief Financial Officer since June 2014. Prior to this position, Mr. Arias was Research and Planning Area manager since 2006. Previously, he held diverse positions related to control and planning at Banco de Chile and Banco de A. Edwards.

Mr. Arias holds a degree in business administration from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.

Corporate Banking Division

Hernan Arellano Salas

Head of Corporate Banking Division since November 2024. Prior to that, he was CEO since 2016 at Banchile Corredores de Bolsa S.A. Currently, he is also member of the board of Banchile Asesoría Financiera S.A.

Mr. Arellano holds a degree in Business Administration at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, a Master degree in Applied Economy in the same university and a MBA at Babson College, United States.

Internal Audit Division

Oscar Mehech Castellón

Global Compliance Division manager since 2008. Mr. Echaiz worked for Citibank for ten years and was Vice President and Country Compliance Officer for Citigroup Chile between 2006 and 2007.

In 2003 Mr. Echaiz was Deputy Director of the Anti-Money Laundering and Organized Crime Unit at the Public Prosecutor’s Office. At present, Mr. Echaiz is Chairman of the Compliance Committee of the Chilean Association of Banks Banking Association.

Mr. Echaiz is an attorney and has a law degree from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and a Master in Finance and Economics from Universidad de Chile.

Marketing, Technology and Digital Division

Esteban Kemp De La Hoz

Operations and Technology Division Manager since August 2018 and Marketing and Digital Banking Division Manager since March 2024, when both Divisions merge into the new Marketing, Technology and Digital Division. Before he was our Acting Global Risk Control Division manager since March 2018.Previously, he was manager of the Process Engineering Area, and later manager of our Operational Risk Control Area since November 2016.

Mr. Kemp joined Banco de Chile in July 2016. He started his career as consultant at Everis in 2007, where he reached the position of manager responsible of the Services of Business Intelligence. In 2011 Mr. Kemp joined a Financial Advisory for Financial Services (FSO) at EY Chile, where he reached the senior manager position.

Mr. Kemp is a civil engineer in computer science from the Universidad Austral de Chile and holds a Master in Business Administration from the Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez.

General Counsel and Secretary of the Board

Alfredo Villegas Montes

General Counsel and Secretary of the Board of Banco de Chile since December 2019. Previously, Mr. Villegas acted as Chief Counsel since 2017 and Commercial Chief Counsel since 2008. Mr. Villegas joined Banco de Chile in 2002 on the occasion of its merger with Banco de A. Edwards, having joined the latter in year 1994.

Mr. Villegas is an attorney and holds a degree in law from Universidad de Chile.

Treasury Division

Sergio Karlezi Aboitiz

Manager of Treasury Division since December 2011. Previously, he was Manager of Treasury between October 2009 and November 2011. From June 2006 to December 2008, he served as Head Trader of Citibank Chile, holding the same position at Banco de Chile until September 2009. Since 2000, he worked for 6 years as Executive Director of Santander Investment New York. Before that, he held positions as Head Trader in Chase Mahattan Bank (now JP Morgan) and Santander Investment Chile.

Mr. Karlezi holds a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Santiago de Chile

People and Organization Division

Cristián Lagos Contardo

People and Organization Division manager since May 2012. From 2008 to March 2012 he was the Corporate Human Resources and Reputational manager of Compañía General de Electricidad S.A.

He was the Human Resources manager of Chilesat S.A. and Corporate manager of Telmex S.A after those two companies merged. Previously, he was the Planning and Human Resources Division manager at Banco Sudaméricano, and later Scotiabank following the merger of these two banks.

Mr. Lagos has a degree in psychology from Universidad Diego Portales.

Cyber Security Division

Salvador Danel

Cybersecurity division manager since January 2019. Prior to joining Banco de Chile, he was Cybersecurity manager for Microsoft from 2015 to 2018, advising clients in diverse industries throughout Latin America. Before that he was a senior manager in the security, risk and infrastructure group at Accenture Mexico, where he implemented IT security strategies in banking and mining industry clients. From 2008 to 2014, he worked as a senior manager in the risk and IT security practice at Deloitte Mexico and as a security advisor for the Liverpool Group.

Mr. Danel has a degree in IT engineering from Universidad Anahuac, Mexico.

Retail Credit Risk and Global Risk Control Division

Julio César Cubillo

Retail Credit Risk and Global Risk Control Division Manager. Previously, between May 2017 and July 2018, he was Head of Credit Risk at BBVA Chile. Efficiency and Productivity Division

Nicolás Burr Garcia de la Huerta

Manager of the Efficiency and Productivity Division since December 2020. Between 2015 and 2020, Mr. Burr served as CFO, member of the Executive Board of Hapag-Lloyd and supervisory board member of United Arab Shipping Company (UASC) in Hamburg, Germany. Previously, between 2009 and 2012, Mr. Burr was CFO of Madeco SA and member of the board of directors of Madeco Mills and Indalum SA. In 2012 Mr. Burr was appointed CFO of Compañía Sudamericana de Valopres (CSAV), position held until the beginning of 2015.

Between 2000 and 2009, Mr. Burr served in diverse executive positions in Arauco in Chile and Argentina.

He is an Industrial Civil Engineer from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (Santiago, Chile). He holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Master of Public Administration from the London School of Economics.
